1. Amalfi Coast - Italy
Take this stunning coastal road and discover south-west Italy. With steep cliffs, views across azure waters, plus culinary delights everywhere you stop, this is an ideal summer road trip to take with your bike. Along this route, you will find the coastal towns of Positano and Amalfi, allowing you to imbibe some Italian culture and, after a day on the road, to treat yourself to delicious pasta or pizza, finished off with homemade limoncello.
2. Transalpina – Romania
The Transalpina is the highest paved road in Romania. Awe-inspiring landscapes, postcard-perfect villages and winding forest roads blend with steep slopes, mountain peaks and narrow trails – this road trip has it all. It is also one of the most challenging in Europe. Please note: because of the height difference, the weather can quickly change on this road trip, so lots of layers of clothing and good preparation are of the essence.
3. En route to Nordkapp - Norway
Enjoy a trip across more than 5000 km of Norwegian landscapes dotted with a myriad of lakes and fjords. One of the greatest advantages of a road trip in Norway is the excellent condition of the roads. The final destination for this beautiful trip is the North Cape (Nordkapp), the northernmost point of continental Europe. Take some time to experience the magical midnight sun among multitudes of puffins, gannets and cormorants.
4. Scotland
The North Coast 500 is the ultimate road trip through Scotland. This route is 500 miles (800 kilometres) along coastal landscapes and quaint fishing villages. Discover everything the Scottish Highlands has to offer and pay a visit along the way to the world-renowned Loch Ness. Ride through the bracing sea air and experience Scotland’s breathtaking coastal landscapes.
5. Gorges Du Verdon – France
This trip through the French Provence offers stunning views across the Verdon Gorge (Gorges du Verdon), also known as the Grand Canyon of Europe. This 100-kilometre route is on the short side, but there are some beautiful stops along the way. Stop for a break at all the different viewpoints, take in the vistas across the river and enjoy the endless stretches of lavender fields that colour the Provence purple. This is a must for any biker on the road in the South of France.
